This wonderful mare started her career as a dressage horse, but at age 9 switched careers and started a very successful jumping career. Miss competed on the A circuit and earned many ribbons in the amateur-owner jumper division. Her first offspring is very flashy and has a wonderful personality. Miss is approved in the Holsteiner Main Mare Book. Miss Magic's sire Rio Grande won the Stallion Performance Test in 1991 before going on to enjoy an international show jumping career. Partnered with Eric Lamaze, Rio Grande competed at the 1996 World Cup Final in Geneva and qualified for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Rio Grande was also a member of winning Nations' Cup teams at the National Horse Show in New York City and the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto in 1995. Rio Grande sired many successful hunters including Rio Renoir Champion of the $ 60,000 National Horse Show Hunter Championship in Wellington, Florida in December of 2006 and Rio Bronco 2002 AHSA Horse of the Year and 2002 & 2003 AHSA A/O Hunter of the Year, to name a few. Rio Grande has produced several Open jumpers such as two time WC- Q winner Catwalk & $ 50,000 GP Winner Rio Rhapsody. In 2005 Rio Grande was the Leading Living Sire of Hunters as per USEF rankings. Miss Magic's grand sire Raphael is probably best known as the sire of international jumpers like Radiator, Ralph or Millstreet Raphael. Few people know he also has produced no less than 11 FEI level dressage horses and even has offspring who is successfully competing at international level in carriage driving. The number of offspring he comes up with in the show ring is high and earned him great indices for producing show horses according to 2000 FN yearbook: 112 in dressage and 123 in jumping.In 1999 an article in 'Reiter und Pferde in Westfalen' honored him as the top sire in the German stallions league leaving behind him names such as Landadel, Pilot, Capitol and others. Her great grand sire Ramiro became a line founder and is still influential through his licensed sons in various German Warmbloodbreeds. He is primarily considered a jumper sire: 87 of his children have earned winnings up to S-level show jumpings but has also sired a couple of S-level Dressage horses. He is the sire of Ratina Z who is most likely his best known daughter and made it to the impressive amount of 1.663496,00 DM price money won over her competing years.
