KATIA'S BIO

Born to a family of equestrians, Katia started riding at an early age. Her initial training in classical dressage instilled a solid foundation, which allowed her to pursue her passion for show jumping. Katia has trained with various European international riders including Claude Manuel, her father, and Thomas Fuchs, the current trainer of FEI top 10 rider, Steve Guerdat. Katia has had the opportunity to be a student at the National German Riding School, where she passed her license to compete in Germany and was one of the only riders to earn a high score of 9.0 in jumping. The same year, before moving to the United States, Katia qualified as the youngest rider for the Swiss Junior Championship.

After obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, Katia has continued to focus on her riding and has been showing all over the East Coast. She has accumulated many wins in the Amateur-Owner division and has participated in Grand Prix's with mounts she developed. Katia continues to work at improving her own riding skills while developing horses for her Grand Prix career and sales program.

In 2010 Katia opened Manuel Show Stables. As an instructor, she is able to share with others her passion for the sport and dedication to the horse. Her patience and attention to detail ensure that her students develop excellent equitation and horsemanship while achieving their full riding potential. She works with students of all levels, regardless of showing ambition. As a rider, she is known for

successfully training difficult horses.  She is also talented in developing young horses, from starting them under saddle to competing them in the show ring. Although predominately a show jumper, Katia’s background allows her to successfully cross-train in the disciplines of dressage, hunters, and equitation.
